The saying, “Money talks, bullshit walks” continues to be the Bible of organizations dependent upon corporate funding.
The latest non-profit to reverse their stance under pressure from Corporate America is the Boy Scouts of America which only a few months back stated they would not accept gay scouts or scout leaders in their ranks.
Now with corporate sponsors UPS and drug manufacturer Merck announcing they were halting donations from their charitable foundations to the Boy Scouts as long as the no-gays police was in force the scouting group ‘has seen the light’, and reversed their decision. An announcement to change that policy is expected later this month probably to avoid any other donors from pulling the plug.
Of course anti-gay groups think allowing gays in the scouts will corrupt the future of our kids. BS!
The Girl Scouts allow gays in their troops.
If you think this is a big deal, just think the influence corporations have on political candidates when they don’t react to the needs of corporate America.
