My neighborhood use to be a hot spot on Halloween night, vans pulling up groups from all over. The past few years many of the homes have not responded to Halloween night, and have not participated in the giving of candy.
I have been told because of the nuts out at nights and what some cruel people put in the candy, many parents are opting for sponsored parties either in their churches or community function.
Except for one burst where kids and parents were lined from my front doo to out in the street, we had several lulls where no one came. The weather was warm, and it was a school night. I guess we saw between 150 to 200 kids, mostly well mannered, some wanted to come in the house and help themselves to the candy. Over all a good night.
Well, we’ll see what happens next year. People are still having kids aren’t they?
