BULLDOGS FALL TO HODGSON IN TITLE GAME

Out matched and out played the Laurel Bulldogs ended their dream season losing the state championship to Hodgson, 42-0.

The Bulldogs never had a chance against the defending state champions trailing after the first quarter 28-0

Laurel suffered an early loss when star running back Jarret Johnson was injured and had to leave the game. With two of their star running backs, Chuckie Auguste and Johnson it would have been tough to double team both of them, but with only Auguste as the power runner, he was the target of the entire Hodgson front line.

The Dawgs might have been intimidated by the huge stadium, and playing their first tournament because they certainly weren’t the Bulldogs that brought them to today’s game.

Never the less they can hold their heads high because they came further than any team in Kent and Sussex County and we are proud of the team, their Coach Glenn Phillips, Jr. and his staff for a successful season and for bringing the Bulldog Pride back to Laurel.

Get ’em next year. You’ve had a taste of winning, now go for the GOLD!
