Trailing for 3 quarters into 3 minutes left in the game, the Laurel Bulldogs eked out a win over the Delmar Wildcats, 57-54. Laurel trailed in the first quarter 13-10 and at halftime, 27-24. At the end of the 3rd quarter Laurel still trailed, 49-43.
With 3 minutes left to play Delmar smelled an upset leading the Dogs 52-50, but Laurel rallied for the win. Laurel’s winning streak is now at 15 games.
The win propelled the Bulldogs into first place in the Henlopen South as number one Woodbridge fell to Lake Forest, 56-54. Laurel is now 12-1 in their division and 17-2 over all. Woodbridge, 12-2 confeerence, 16-3 over all.
Laurel girls continued their winning streak overpowering the Wildcats 54-14 bringing their record to 9-4 conference nd 13-6 overall. Delmar girls are winless in the conference with a 0-11 record, and 1-16 in conference.
